This ale bowl was designed for the Hallingdal project in "Rosemaling Styles, Study and Design". The design started out as geometric, but turned into having assymmetrical features as I painted. Notice how the design goes around the central flower instead of radiating out straight from the root flower. Some of the old bowls were designed in this manner.
Paul and I took a 12 inch bowl and designed the bead with scallops to form the edge. The depth for painting is only about one and a half inches, so not difficult.
The Notch-n-C's bowl is the same size with a different shaped rim. This can be used for the same design from the book if you prefer it's rim.
